Vote 4 Kayla!

So two weeks ago Kayla came home from school and told me and Antwan that she was running for Safety Marshal for her schools student council. my reply was "You know you have to do a speech in front of everyone" she said"yes i know" not caring at all. But of course not that's Kayla for you.. So all afternoon Sunday we spent making posters here's a picture of one of them.

She had a week to campaign it was a lot of . Last Friday Sept. 25th She gave her speech. She was nervous but I knew she would do well. So of course I was there to cheer her on.

So here is Kayla doing her speech in front the 3rd,4th and 5th graders!

The kid in the orange shirt that's her opponent!

Kayla new it was in the bag her reason's for why she would win were:
                   1. She had the prettiest  posters
                   2. He was the kid
                   3. She just knew she would

So all the kids voted on Monday and Yesterday they put the winners  up on the wall. And she did it !!
Congratulations to our Safety Marshal Kayla!!!!!!!!! She knew she had it in the bag!!!

Back to School

Well yesterday was the first back at school for my kids. Although I did enjoy having them at home its nice to send them on there way for a few hours.

So Yesterday Christian started 7th grade its hard to believe how fast they grow it seems like only yesterday he was in kinder wow how time flys. Last Friday we went to get his class schedule and met his new and old teachers. Lets hope he makes it to class on time. As we followed his schedule we found ourselves going from one side of the school to the other. After each class. He also learned he is going to have a very hard working year cause he is in all advance classes I am very proud of him!! Go Christian! He said he enjoyed his first day and loved his teachers. Hopefully he feels that way at the end of the year!

Kayla started 4th grade yesterday and she was excited because her classroom was upstairs now something only the 4th and 5th graders get to have. After school not as excited walking up and down stairs all day wasn't as fun as she thought it was going to be. One thing I notice about Kayla's class was the number of student the district wasn't lying when they said the class sizes were going to be larger it was almost doubled from last year. She has 34 students.

Well even with all the kids Kayla enjoyed her first day and was very proud of her work yesterday. They watched Obamas speech and had to do a strategy chart when she was done the teacher liked so much he used it as an example of how every-ones work should look I didn't get to see it but she told me he liked that it was neat, the lines were straight and done well. I have to say my kids do well.

Well it was a great start for the first day keep it up !!!!

Some Family Fun!!

Ok so its been a while. I've been busy having some fun times with the family. The past two weekends we've all just been enjoying each other. We went to the bay to fly the kids kites that was an interesting adventure!

So here goes Antwan trying to get the kite up.

Its up for about a second.
And it sees the ground again so I go and try to help him meanwhile Christian and Kayla are on the other side trying to get the other kite up. I hear mom mom look. Yes they did it in less than a minute.
Christian Flying the kite!High in the sky. Kayla says "I told you we'd get the kite in the air first.
After an hour or so of trying the kite never made it in the air! Kayla said"dad you have no skills with flying kites!!"
